Stangerbad / Four-cell bath
The Stangerbad or four-cell bath is a hydroelectric full bath in which the patient sits in a bathtub filled with water and is flooded with direct current. This stimulates the deeper-lying muscle tissue by up to 300% and increases the blood circulation of the skin by up to 500%. The warmth of the water contributes a further positive effect. Overall, pain in muscle tone can be reduced.

In addition, drugs can be better delivered to the body regions to be treated by means of iontoporesis. In this process, the drug is added to the bath water in ionized form. The electric current allows the substances to penetrate the skin and be absorbed by the body.
